CarsIreland.ie is an award winning digital media business with a city centre location (near the IFSC). The exclusive focus of the business is to provide all our users (buyers and sellers) with a great online experience.

We seek an experienced and enthusiastic Linux systems adminitrator to join our operations. As CarsIreland.ie is scaling quickly the work will be varied and it will involve using the latest technologies and best practices. You will be responsible for the smooth running of all our public facing and internal systems, and will be managing resource & performance monitoring, security and backups. With 3+ years experience you will be able to work as part of a team and independently to tight schedules. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and be familiar with:

Shell scripting
Server building
LAMP stack, including latest alternatives (e.g. nginx)
Basic database admin
DNS management
Email configuration
Security concepts

Other skills that would be nice:

Firewall configuration
Ubuntu
postfix
Nagios
Load balancing configuration
Amazon Web Services
Squid
Varnish
kvm or qemu

This is a key role within the company, and will provide you the freedom to:

Automate processes in your preferred scripting languages / configuration management tools

Influence company wide technology decisions

Salary offered is commensurate with experience. Beards allowed, but no sandals. NO AGENCIES.
