Full-Time Software Development Manager
Job Description
Blacknight the market leader in domain name registration and Internet Hosting in Ireland require an experienced SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to manage a team of software developers who have responsibility for developing internal and customer facing applications.
Based in our Carlow office the Software Development Manager will take responsibility for ensuring the business requirements are met technically, so an ability to liaise with the business and manage the development team as appropriate is required.
In addition to the technical aspect of the role the Software Development Manager will proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure continued development of the team members.
A relevant third level qualification or relevant experience is required.
The ideal candidate will have a skillset encompassing many of these elements:
- A minimum of 3 years experience managing Development teams
- Background in software development primarily using Python, Django or Java.
- Knowledge of a recognised software development methodology is essential
- Prioritise and successfully manage any project conflicts.
- Work with internal resources to scope development projects, including deliverables, timelines and budgets etc.
- Develop, maintain and enhance our software development processes, standards, and systems Ensure compliance to internal and external standards relating to internet design, development, usability and accessibility
- Structured, organised approach to managing personal and team activities including performance planning and improvement, skills development, productivity etc.
- Have a track record of results within a talented and opinionated team, and have a solid track record of project delivery.
- Have proven that you are a leader who prioritizes, communicates clearly, and partners effectively with both technical and non-technical employees.
- Have demonstrated participation on cross-functional engineering teams in fast-paced environments, both in terms of technical leadership and hands-on coding.
