Project Manager
Reporting to: Head of Delivery
The successful candidate will scope, plan, control and manage assigned projects with the objective of delivering the customized product / software and all artifacts to the client within the agreed schedules, budget and quality criteria.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Projects The project management of all assigned projects and deliveries to clients within agreed schedules and budgets
Resources Through negotiation with relevant line managers, ensure that the correct resources and skill-sets are assigned to project – to ensure success
Project Initiation Ensure clarity of requirements Ensure clarity of project scope – all activities for all work and services
Project Planning Co-ordination of estimates from all sources
o Initial high level estimates with contingency
o Refinement of estimates as more detail become available Production and maintenance of a project management plan
o Rules of engagement for the project
o Roles and responsibilities Production of a project schedule
o All activities, effort, dates and resources
o Project priorities
Project Management and Control Monitor and report on all projects to an agreed frequency and format Management of Change within the project(s) and impacts Risk and Issues management Early escalation of risks
Team Management Co-ordinate and control the activities of all project team members Ensure the assignment of activities in a planned manner
Budgetary Management Management and control of the project(s) budget(s) Internal budgetary reporting External budgetary reporting and invoicing
Client management Co-ordination of client communication Regular status reporting (including risk management) Identification and notification of client issues that will cause impacts on costs and schedules
Quality Determine the quality of all deliverables to clients through feedback from the responsible parties or through personal review
Product At all times work with the Product Manager and Head of Business Analysis to ensure customer requirements are not in conflict with product direction. If this should arise it needs to be defined and escalated
Improvements Continuously improve project controls to ensure efficiency and success
Travel Available to travel to international clients sites on a regular basis For initial 6 months frequent European travel of 5-10 days per month very likely
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years Project Management experience with client interaction, ideally with Banking Business and IT cross functional teams
Project management certification
Excellent verbal and written communication
Process driven – but ability to decide on deviations and assess the risks
Excellent understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and test processes
Ability to delegate / escalate up and down
Financial awareness and ability to control a budget
Ability to balance client and company needs / requirements and control project scope
Willingness to learn the business domain
Team building and communication
Problem solving and the ability to reach compromise
Willingness to take ownership for all aspects of the project (s)
Enthusiasm for the role and commitment to achieve objectives /meet deadlines
Prior experience managing multiple parties within a programme / project

Experience and knowledge of industry standard project management / control tools

o Work allocation
ALSO DESIRABLE
Understanding of background processing and system integration
Prior experience of RDBMS – preferably Oracle
Ability to learn new skills with appropriate training and documentation
