Java Software Engineer / Java Software Developer

Over 300,000 businesses use our client’s service to process e-payments, manage payment fraud and mitigate security risk. An opportunity has now arisen for a Java Software Engineer / Java Software Developer to join their team.

This role would suit a Java developer with experience of n tier application development and familiarity of Agile methodologies looking to work with leading-edge technologies and industry experts.

As a Java Software Engineer / Java Software Developer, you will be responsible for developing complex systems that process millions of transactions per day, leveraging J2EE and open source technologies.

As a key member of the engineering team, you will need to communicate technical ideas clearly with both technical and non technical audiences. Working in an Agile environment, you will also embrace iterative and incremental techniques.

You will be tasked with:

- Designing, developing, modifying and testing highly scalable and fault-tolerant components
- Demonstrating the software for various technical and non technical users across the company
- Maintaining and developing a good knowledge of required standards, methods and tools for analysis

To be considered for the role of Java Software Engineer / Java Software Developer, you must have:

- Development experience using Java, or a combination of Java and .NET
- A BSc or MSc (or equivalent) in computer science, or a similar subject
- Familiarity of Agile methodologies, such as Scrum
- Experience of using N-tier application development
- OO design and design patterns experience

Although not essential, experience of using J2EE would be a distinct advantage to your application. Experience gained within a financial service, banking or payment organisation would also be beneficial.
