TechWorks Marine are looking for a web developer to work on ongoing
projects and high profile EU research projects. Development of leading
edge platforms for dissemination scientific and environmental data.

Applicants should hold a degree in computer science, science or
engineering and possess skills which include Linux systems management
and support, network services, applications software deployment, and
good scripting and web programming experience.

This person should be a good communicator, and self motivated.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure and maintain software on Linux servers.
• Provide limited technical support for end users.
• Integration of external data services into web frameworks
• Portal development and maintenance for internal / EU projects
• Development of infrastructure to support web portals

The candidate should have the following skills:

Experience with:

Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP/Tomcat
libvirt / KVM
Web Map Server
OpenDAP
NetCDF
Good HTML and CSS
Javascript
User authorisation / credentials / LDAP / SSO
