Senior Embedded C++ Software Engineer / Developer – C / C++

€55,000 - €75,000 DOE

Providing highly sophisticated monitoring and control solutions, our client’s products are used by national and regional power companies to monitor transmission and distribution substations and provide remote control for reconfiguring the grid. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Embedded C++ Software Engineer / Developer to join their team.

This is the ideal role for a dynamic and self motivated individual with significant experience of developing real-time multitasking embedded systems, looking to be involved in defining the future of both the company and the industry.

As a Senior Embedded C++ Software Engineer / Developer, you will be in the development and maintenance of new and existing applications.

Working as part of a small team of developers, you will design new embedded applications. You will also be involved with the complete project life cycle, including:

- Liaising with customers
- Analysing requirements
- Detailed designing
- Implementing and testing applications

To be considered for the role of Senior Embedded C++ Software Engineer / Developer, you must have:

- Significant experience of object oriented development with real-time multitasking embedded systems using C++ (and preferably C)
- Experience with at least one RTOS, such as Rtems, pSOS, Vrtx or similar

Additionally, you must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to self motivate and work under pressure.

Although not essential, a degree (or equivalent) in computer science or software engineering would be an advantage as would experience with GCC toolchain. Development experience within any of the following sectors would also be beneficial: handheld/mobile devices, power utilities, electronics, telecoms etc.

Additionally, knowledge of Agile methodologies, Visual C++/MFC, Assembly, and SCADA protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101, DNP3.0 and Modbus would be advantageous.
