Moulding Engineer – Plastics Moulding

Our client is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of technical plastic components and assemblies. With facilities in Ireland, the Czech Republic and the USA, they are proud to count world class companies such as Beckman, Fresenius, Xerox, Toyota, BMW, Honda and Bosch among their customers. An opportunity has now arisen for a Moulding Engineer to join their team.
In this role you will be involved in all aspects of the manufacturing process, particularly in machine and mould validation, new product introduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
This will involve working on healthcare products, including specialist packaging, reagent containers and sharps containers.
As a Moulding Engineer, your duties will include:
- validating new moulds, machines and other equipment
- carrying out process optimisation
- resolving technical product and process issues
- supervising the work of set-up technician, instructing them in scientific processing
- working on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing projects
To be considered for this position, you must:
- have experience as a process or moulding engineer/technician gained within a plastics moulding company
- be educated to at least diploma level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or manufacturing discipline
- have a solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
As the Moulding Engineer you will also need to demonstrate excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Experience of custom moulding for the medical device sector would be an advantage to your application, as would education to at least diploma level in plastics engineering or similar.
