The role within Blacknight is an exciting opportunity for anyone with a technical background and offers the successful candidate opportunities to work with leading edge technology in a service provider level environment.</p>
<p>This is a 1st line technical support / customer service role for Ireland’s largest Hosting and Domain registration provider – Blacknight</p>
<p>As a job in this sector would be a specialised support role we will provide full training and so no certification or advanced skills in computer use is required.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p>The role would have the following responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Deal with customer’s queries via phone, email, and instant messaging like platform</li>
<li>Deal with customer queries as above in any language the candidate is fluent in (other than English).</li>
<li>Act on requests from other departments within the company.</li>
<li>Requests and queries usually relate to technical issues customers have with setting up email account and their websites through the control panels we offer.</li>
<li>Flexible working hours may be required, including weekend work.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications and Education Requirements</strong></p>
<p>While no experience or education in the IT or Computers area is required, an interest or proficiency in general computer use would be essential.</p>
<p>Applicant must be interested and eager to learn more about the Hosting / domain industry.</p>
<p><strong>Preferred Skills</strong></p>
<p>Experience with dealing with the general public in a previous job role would be ideal.</p>
<p>Familiarity with the Windows and Linux operating systems, Apple OSX, and general shell commands like “grep”, would be preferred also but are not essential.</p>
<p>Good communications skills and punctuality are essential</p>
<p>Knowledge of a language other than English would be advantageous, though not necessary.</p>
<p><strong>Location</strong></p>
<p>Our head office is based in Carlow, but we have offices in Dublin. All successful applicants would need to complete initial training in Carlow.</p>
<p><strong>Starting Salary Range:</strong><br />
23.5k to 27.5k</p>
